Jane
Johnson, a classical-contemporary pianist, lives in Burnsville, NC with
her husband. They have three grown children. She is a full-time
administrative and support services coordinator for two group homes and a
workshop for developmentally disabled adults.Jane began composing music in 2006 after being asked to provide background music for two high school play productions. The compositions she has written are without pretension and uncompromisingly honest that take you on a different journey of moods and reflections. There is something timeless with music like this that is emotive, soothing, and beautiful. Her original compositions may be found on four CD albums: Fragments of Time, Days to Remember, An Old Story, and Another Season. In her free-flowing style, Jane has put together a collection of hymns on her latest release, Beyond the Sunset. She recorded this album for her mother, who was diagnosed with dementia several years ago and dearly loves to sing-even now-hymns and other songs she learned in her earlier years. Jane's mother has a particular favorite song that she has sung and hummed for four years: Beyond the Sunset. Thus leading to the title for the hymn selection CD. The album is also for Jane's father who has been the care-giver, a very demanding position but one that he has done without complaining and with so much love. He has been a wonderful example and inspiration to many. The hymns on Beyond the Sunset are beautiful melodies that are so well-loved in America. May they be a source of enjoyment and inspiration to the listener.
